The Fitness Ethic is a training boutique offering personal, semi-personal, and group training experiences in the Philadelphia Area with the goal of transforming your health, both body and mind. Our training style is uniquely focused on helping people discover or rediscover their inner athlete to be optimally performing human beings in their individual lives. No matter where you are in your fitness journey, our doors are open to you. Our training style is not a fad or diet, but rather revolves around building a positive community; here at The Fitness Ethic we are team.
MEET THE TEAM
Giovanni is the founder and lead trainer at The Fitness Ethic. He is a trainer by trade but motivator by nature. Giovanni is passionate, energetic, understanding, and knowledgeable. He is AAAI certified and specializes in performance and weight loss training. During his early adulthood years, he experienced a major tragedy which influenced him to work in a field where he could connect with and elevate his community. Being a tri-sport athlete in high school and playing collegiate basketball naturally pushed him towards personal training. Knowing the value that his own training program provided him physically and mentally, he knew he had a gift to share with the World.
Giovanni strongly believes that fitness is a gateway to a greater and more powerful life. His philosophy is "Fitness introduces a set of core principles that demand to be practiced. Through this practice, you begin to experience a goal setting and obtaining mentality, realizing the power of these virtues is applicable to any life venture you pursue." Giovanni has created a community of friends that support each other through their fitness journey, which is why everyone apart of The Fitness Ethic is referred to as a teammate. He takes this idea a step further and cares for each client as if they were a family member. Giovanni cannot wait to see what the Fitness Ethic team and family are capable of accomplishing, and wants you to be apart of his movement.
Head of marketing and communications for the Fitness Ethic. Mercedes’ passion for fitness started at 7 years old on the soccer field, and ended at the age of 22 on the field hockey field. At least that is what she thought, until she met Giovanni over 3 year ago, and fell in love with athletics all over again. As a competitive high school athlete, division I collegiate athlete, and former field hockey youth coach Mercedes as extensive experience in performance based training. “Fighting to get back into shape both physically and mentally, The Fitness Ethic way, reminded what my former trainer and Papa always told me… I am not training you to be the best athlete you can be, I am training you to be the best human being you can be.” Mercedes truely loves being a part of The Fitness Ethic team, and believes they are starting a fitness revolution.
Head of operations and sales for The Fitness Ethic. Pittsburgh Native wildly motivated by the fitness movement currently happening in the city of Philadelphia which he considers his new home. James has had a passion for athletics, sports, and overall physical fitness since the age of five years old. Background of High School, and collegiate athletics with also a background in coaching soccer at a premier youth level over the past 10 years. "I Started off as a client of Giovanni's and due to my experience over the past 2 years of reigniting my excitement and desire of personal fitness and growth. I was eager to be apart of this company, we are doing something special here, and I am really looking forward to seeing what is next for The Fitness Ethic"
We operate out of Trainer Hall, a coop gym space located in Northern Liberties. Trainer Hall is best described as a cross functional gym with no membership fee, and free parking. All of our trainers are willing to train in any location we are allowed to bring business to. This includes clients’ homes, home/condo/apartment gyms, and outdoors.
